Matchmaker, matchmaker....

Insights into how June Care helps you find your perfect childcare-match

You’ve got your list of perfect qualities you are hoping for… envisioned how your first meeting will go… and longed for the day when you can finally define your relationship. Don’t worry, this isn’t a post about finding Mr. Right, but rather meeting your perfect childcare match :)

There is no denying that finding the perfect childcare provider can feel a lot like dating. Sorting through profiles, trying to figure out “what kind of parent are you / are you not,” all of the meta questions that can drive you a little crazy during an already stressful time of getting ready to head back to work or finally trying to build your support network. Never fear - there’s an ‘app for that.’ Here at June Care, we are here to make sure you don’t waste your time on any “bad dates” and, instead, walk the straight path towards the highest quality care. It is (literally) my mission to help you find the perfect match, the kind of care provider that makes you think “where have you been all my life?!”

There are many critical steps to our matching process here at June Care, and I wanted to share a few key components here to help you feel confident about our process and ultimately your match. First, every June Care Host is herself, a primary care provider of children - so they know what’s up. Additionally, each Host must pass our background and reference checks prior to hosting with June Care. I like to say that: every host is “mom reviewed and approved.” Meaning I, or someone on my team (we are moms too, by the way) has connected with your June Care Host (either virtually, over the phone or even in person) and feels confident connecting them with you and your family. We want every parent to feel 100% comfortable with their match and even allow for a full refund if you arrive at a home and are not fully at ease leaving your child under your host’s care.

Now for the fun part (or at least I think it’s fun!)... the matching! Once you send us a childcare request, we consider the obvious matching factors, first: location and schedule. We know you're busy and the last thing you want to do is spend any more time lugging your kids around in the car, so we focus on hosts in close proximity to you. When we have narrowed down the pool to those who are close and available, we then consider the ages of the children, personalities of children, activities both families enjoy, approaches to parenting and many other factors that could make for a successful match. Most of these details are collected in our registration forms, which is why it is so helpful for families to share as much about their family and home as possible when signing up. Don’t worry though, if we feel like we need to know more about you and your family in order to make the best match, we will give you a call to get to know you a little bit better.

Once we have a good sense of who you are and your preferences, we do the legwork to find you your perfect June Care match. When we find it, we connect you and your potential June Care host either virtually or in a trial playdate because, sometimes you just need that parent-to-parent conversation before taking the next step. This is where you can ask all your lingering questions and use your “mom gut” to further assess if it’s the right match for you (and we help you though the whole process)... we're like the best 'wing-man/third-wheel' you could ever ask for.

If you are a parent who is feeling overwhelmed trying to find childcare and navigate what and who is best for you, I recommend you come find us here at June Care. With our networks of parents, we are not only revolutionizing childcare, but we are also helping to revitalize communities. Finally, neighbors can rely on neighbors again for the support they need… and I am here for that!
